A Message from Nico!
Growing up in Nanaimo, I’ve always been in awe of the talent and community we are blessed with and last year we staged the 1st Hullabaloo and what a party we had at The Port Theatre. I am excited to offer the 2nd Annual Hullabaloo and hope you will join us!
Now down to brass tacks!
- This is a non-auditioned choir. All are welcome! Whether you’ve never sung before, or are a total pro, you are welcome to join us! If you have choral experience, GREAT, if not, YOU WILL SOON!
- You DO NOT need to read music!
- We are going to be singing lots of different styles. Whether that’s an 80’s medley, a folksy waltz, a musical theatre blitz, I guarantee there will be music you love, and music you can discover. Variety is the spice of life!
- At the show we will have a LIVE BAND!
- This is an inclusive project. This may go without saying, but all are welcome regardless of orientation, gender expression, age, background. I promise you, personally, that all people are welcome.
- We’re going to have so much fun! I know that may be cheesy, but I want you all to know that this is first and foremost a musical party. That means we will be moving, shaking, hooting, and hollering.
To all you beautiful humans reading this, know you’re invited to come sing, and I couldn’t be more excited to meet you for the first time, or see you again! Let’s get together and create something fun, memorable, and 100% homegrown organic awesome sauce.

Singers are invited to join the choir for the 2nd Annual Nico Rhodes Hullabaloo,
will take place on June 18 and 19, 2026 at The Port Theatre.
Tuesday Rehearsals: May 5, 12, 19, 26, June 2, 9, 16 | 6:45 – 8:45 pm
Rehearsal Location: St. Andrews Presbyterian Church 4235 Departure Bay Road, Nanaimo
Shows: June 18 & 19, 2026 at The Port Theatre
Dress Rehearsal: June 18: afternoon (all performers must be present)

REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 9
When you register, we ask that you pay at least 50% of the registration fee. You will see the drop-down menus on the link below when you register.
Refund Policy:
- If you cancel between Feb. 1 and April 25: we will refund all fees except for $20. (Admin fee to cover service charges).
- If you cancel between April 26 – May 7: we will refund your fee except for $40.00. (Admin & music costs)
- After May 8: no refunds offered.
